On Sunday, at 8:30 PM, Radnički will play against Primorac in the final of the Final Four of the Regional League for their third cup.
If successful, it would be the first to be won in Serbia. The Kragujevac team celebrated in 2022 in Zagreb, and last year in Herceg Novi. The challenge is to lift the trophy in front of a large home crowd against Kotor, thus crowning the excellent games in the region and enhancing the superb organization of the final tournament.
This season, Primorac was better in the preparations. In the Regional League, Radnički won 13:7 in Kotor and 15:9 at home. In the quarterfinals of the Euro Cup, Kragujevac also won two times, 14:10 in Kotor and 17:15 at home.
In the semi-final against Šabac, Radnički did not shine, the six-goal victory seems more convincing than shown, but the main goal was achieved – reaching the final.
Uroš Stevanović commented as follows:
– Both semi-finals were very important, because there is no room for mistakes, there is no way to fix them. We played against Primorac five times, lost once in the preparations. Then we won, but it was easier to win in Kotor than in Kragujevac. I hope that the players will recover and show better quality than in the duel against Šabac. That match was as we expected. They had nothing to lose.
Nikola Murisic, formerly a water polo player for Primorac, now for Radnički, added:
– I expected Šabac to be like this, young, well-prepared, they put up a strong resistance. When they took matters into their own hands and broke away, they managed to come back quickly. In the end, our quality was the deciding factor, but the difference was greater than the game we played. The final is one match, both teams made it to the very end. I am glad that my former club is in the final. We know where the biggest threat is coming from. We will be ready for this match. There can always be some tactical surprises, but it is clear that we have to take control of the game from the first minute.
The team from Kotor was very worn out in the match with 34 goals against Jadran. They were in the red for most of the match, there was also a plus three for Jadran. But Brguljan and his teammates did not give up, they got up in the last part, won five goals in which they had more skill. Now, relieved, they come to the tournament host, eager to win the trophy, one of the few that they have missed in their long, successful history.
Kotor center Savo Ćetković first recalled the match against Jadran:
– With one bad game, especially in defense, we beat a strong opponent. In the final, I would like to see a game with fewer goals, I believe that then the game would be uncertain for us. I expect us to be better than in the duel with Jadran.
