The Serbian women’s water polo team (under-16) achieved its first victory at the World Championship, which is being held in Zagreb. In the second round match, Daniela Ćuk’s team defeated the Romanian team 10:8 (4:1, 1:4, 3:1, 2:2).
Our water polo players opened the match better and had a three-goal lead after the first quarter. The Romanians responded in kind, so the score at halftime was 5:5. The match was decided in the third quarter, which the Serbian water polo players won 3:1. In the final period, both teams scored two goals each.
The most efficient players in the Serbian national team were Maša Ćuk with five and Jana Pejić with three goals scored.
Our national team will play against the Canadian national team in the third round, on Monday at 2:30 PM.
