The Serbian youth men’s water polo team (players under 16) recorded their fourth consecutive victory at the World Championship in Zagreb. Vojislav Čupić’s team defeated Canada 20:7 (6:1, 4:3, 5:3, 5:0) in the final round of the first phase.
Our national team opened the game excellently and after the first quarter had a five-goal lead – 6:1. Canada put up a slightly stronger resistance in the second period, but Serbia also decided that period in its favor and went into halftime with a convincing 10:4 lead.
Serbia continued to control the game in the second half. They won the third period with a score of 5:3, while in the last quarter they did not concede a single goal, and scored five more, for a final score of 20:7.
The player of the match was Uroš Munćan, who scored nine goals. Dušan Samardžić, Andrej Lazić and Andrija Čubrilović scored three each, while Marko Abadžić and Blagoje Lale each scored once.
Serbia finished the first phase of the competition with four wins. The next opponent and the date of the next match will be known after the completion of all matches of the last round and the formation of the final ranking.
