The Serbian youth water polo team (players under 16) achieved a victory over the Hungarian national team with a score of 15:14 (4:3, 5:3, 4:5, 2:3).
Serbia took a three-goal lead (9:6) after the first half, and then managed to maintain the lead despite Hungarian attempts to get back into the match during the second half.
Although Hungary came within a goal of trailing several times in the last quarter, the Serbian water polo players remained calm in the final minutes and maintained their lead until the final whistle.
A victory over one of the highest-quality rivals in the tournament is a significant boost before the competition continues.
With this victory over Hungary, Serbia won 1st place in the group and ended the first phase of the competition, continuing its fight in the second phase of the Balkan Games.
