The Serbian youth men’s water polo team (players under 16) recorded their third consecutive victory at the World Championship in Zagreb. Vojislav Čupić’s team defeated Georgia 15:2 (1:2, 5:0, 4:0, 5:0) in the third round match.
Georgia opened the match better and after the first quarter had a minimal advantage – 2:1. Serbia then took full control of the game and did not concede a single goal until the end of the match.
Our national team won the second quarter with a score of 5:0 and went into halftime with a lead of 6:2. Serbia continued in the same rhythm in the second half, scoring nine more goals without conceding a goal, for a convincing victory with a score of 15:2.
The most efficient players in the Serbian national team were Maksim Krečković and Uroš Munćan with three goals each. Strahinja Milutinović and Andrej Lazić scored two each, while Jovan Guduric, Petar Frenc, Marko Abadžić, Andrija Čubrilović and Nemanja Grgić each scored once.
Maksim Krečković was named the best player of the match.
Our national team will play against Canada in the fourth and final round of the first phase. The match is scheduled for Thursday, August 6, at 5:30 p.m.
