The Serbian women’s water polo team (under-16) achieved its second consecutive victory at the World Championships in Zagreb. In the third round match, Daniela Ćuk’s team defeated the Canadian team with a score of 13:9 (3:2, 5:2, 2:1, 3:4).
Our water polo players opened the match better and already after the first quarter they had a goal advantage. Serbia played even better in the second period and went into halftime with an 8:4 lead. Our national team further increased their advantage in the third quarter and led 10:5 on the eve of the last period. The Canadians managed to mitigate the defeat in the final, but Serbia’s victory was not in question.
The most efficient players in the Serbian national team were Maša Ćuk and Jana Pejić with five goals each. Nina Peković scored two goals, and Milica Marković scored one goal. Jana Pejić was named the player of the match.
After three rounds played, Serbia has two wins and one loss.
Our national team will play against the Brazilian national team in the fourth round on Tuesday at 8:35 PM.
