On the eve of the match, information was received that due to the red card in the match against Greece, coach Uroš Stevanović was banned from leading the team, i.e. playing, for three matches, and Petar Jakšić was banned from playing for two matches.
Let us remind you that Petar Jakšić was penalized for “brutality” after the video review. After that, Stevanović protested because the referees “turned a blind eye” to an identical situation in front of the Greek goal. His challenge did not pass.
It all happened 94 seconds before the end, when Serbia was leading 15:14. The Greeks tied the game from the penalty spot and then scored the winning goal with a player more.
Interestingly, only the tournament organization received the decision, which was communicated to the Serbian team 20 minutes before the start of the match.
