The Federation also received a new coat of arms
At today’s session of the Assembly of the Water Polo Federation of Serbia, a new Statute was adopted.
Based on the new Statute, the Serbian Water Polo Federation changed its name to the Serbian Water Polo Federation. Like many other water polo and swimming federations in the world (Hungarian Water Polo Federation, Russian Water Polo Federation, Italian Swimming Federation, Croatian Water Polo Federation, Greek Water Polo Federation, German Swimming Federation, Slovenian Water Polo Federation and many others…), the Serbian Water Polo Federation has now received a name that clearly defines its affiliation with the nation it represents.
With this, the national water polo organization received a name that more clearly emphasizes its affiliation with Serbian sport, as well as the place that water polo has in our national and sporting identity.
The Serbian Water Polo Federation has a new emblem as of today
The new emblem consists of a stylized dolphin (which has symbolized our water polo players for decades), a water polo ball, and waves in the colors of the flag of the Republic of Serbia.
The coat of arms connects the symbols of water, strength, and movement with the colors of the national flag, emphasizing the recognizability of the sport that has represented Serbia at the highest level for years.
The new Statute was adopted also to comply with the Law on Sports, but also to more clearly regulate the work of the Federation in the coming period. The Serbian Water Polo Federation continues to work in the interest of Serbian water polo, its clubs, national teams and all those who have contributed to the reputation of this sport in Serbia and the world.
The adoption of the new Statute, the change of name and the new emblem represent an important step in the further organizational strengthening of the Federation. These decisions place the foundations of Serbian water polo in a more modern, precise and powerful framework.
