Radnički’s water polo players advanced to the semifinals of the Serbian Super League, after defeating Zemun in the second quarterfinal match, this time at their home pool, with a score of 26:10. Let’s remind you that the team from Kragujevac previously won in Belgrade with a score of 25:12.
Along with four Radnički national team players who missed the first match, experienced center Duško Pijetlović and goalkeeper Radoslav Filipović were also rested. But even in such a squad, the advantage in quality was great, so the question of the winner did not arise in the second leg of this double-header.
Once again, the most efficient player was young Samuil Ivanov with six goals, followed by Veljko Dončić with four and Sava Randjelović and Angelos Vlahopulos with three each.
Due to international commitments, the Kragujevac team played this quarterfinal match earlier than the other Super League teams, so their next opponent, as well as the names of the other semifinalists, will be announced later.
The Šumadija team thus made a nice overture to the final tournament of the Water Polo Regional League, which will be played in Kragujevac from April 17 to 19. Radnicki’s first match will be played on Friday, at 8:30 p.m., against Šabac, while the first semi-final, between Primorac from Kotor and Jadran from Herceg Novi, will be played at 6 p.m.
