Zvezda recorded all three defeats in Malta

The Red Star Belgrade women’s water polo team ended their participation in the second phase of the Challenger Cup qualifying tournament in Malta with three losses and failed to qualify for the final tournament, which is being played in 21. and March 22.

The red and whites, who traveled to Malta with only nine players, were defeated by local team San Guiliano 17:12, German team SSV Esslingen 22:9 and Portuguese club Fluvial Portuense 21:8. The group also included Hapoel Emek, which was unable to travel to Malta, so the red and whites ended their participation in the tournament on Friday.

Against San Guiliano played: Lena Petkovic, Irina Trbanos 4, Magdalena Elis 1, Milica Markovic 1, Andrea Lazovic 2, Milica Pavic, Jana Jankovic 3, Helena Klikovac 1 and Una Jelenic.

In the duel with the German Esslingen, Trbanos scored four goals, Elis three, and Lazović and Jelenić one goal each, while Jana Janković was the most effective against Fluvial with three goals, while Trbanos and Elis added two each, and Lazović one goal.
