The water polo players of Novi Beograd lost to Barceloneta with a score of 16:14 in the fifth, penultimate round of the quarter-final A group of the Champions League. With this defeat, the team from Novo Beograd definitely lost their chance of qualifying for the Final Four to be played in Malta.
The guests from Spain had the advantage from the start of the match. The largest lead was three goals, and Novi Beograd managed to equalize on two occasions, but not to take the lead.

At the beginning of the fourth quarter, Novi Beograd tied the score for the last time (10:10) with a goal by Miloš Ćuk, but then the experienced Munariz and Vigvari restored Barceloneta’s two-goal lead, and the Novi Beograd team did not have the strength to turn the game around.
The best player in the ranks of the New Belgrade team was Vasilije Martinović with five goals, Nikola Lukić added three, and Miloš Ćuk two, while Bernard Sabahuja and Vince Vigvari stood out in the winning camp with four goals each.
