The water polo players of Novi Beograd ended their participation in this season’s Champions League with a defeat to Brescia with a score of 18:17, in the last round of the quarter-final group A.
The team from New Belgrade entered the match better and had control over the score during the first half. They went into halftime with a three-goal lead (11:8), and at the beginning of the third quarter, with a goal from Luka Gladović, they reached their biggest lead of the match – a four-goal difference.

However, a period of weaker play by the home team followed, which Brescia managed to take advantage of. The Italian team turned the score around with a series of five consecutive goals and completely threw the match back into suspense.
Despite that drop, Novi Beograd entered the final eight minutes with a minimal advantage, but failed to maintain it. The decisive goal for Brescia was scored by Ante Višković, 79 seconds before the end of the match.

The most efficient player in the New Belgrade team was Vasilije Martinović with six goals, while Mario Del Baso showed the most for Brescia, who scored five goals.
With this match, Novi Beograd ended the European season, and the team now turns to its domestic championship obligations and the continuation of the final series of the Serbian Super League.
