The water polo players from Šabac ended their European story for this season in an honorable manner, after defeating the Spanish team Sabadell in the second leg of the round of 16 of the European Cup with a score of 9:6. Everything was clear after the match in Spain, when the home team won 11:3, but the players from Šabac did not give up.
Andrej Barać brought the lead to 5:4 54 seconds before the end of the first half, and that was a sign that the Serbian team would play its best part in the third period. After goals by Lazić and Baros, Novaković and Gavrilović were successful for 8:5 before the final period. The three-goal difference remained at the end of the match.
Filip Novaković, Mihajlo Repanović and Andrej Barać each scored two goals, while Novak Lazić, Bogdan Gavrilović and Ognjen Moračanin added one each.
