The Red Star Belgrade water polo team has traveled to Malta, where they will be competing in the second phase of the Challenger Cup from Thursday to Sunday.
The red and whites’ rivals in Group A will be home team San Guillen, German team SSV Esslingen, Portuguese team Fluvial Portuense and Israeli team Hapoel Emek. The two best teams from this group will advance to the final tournament, which will be played 21. and March 22.
Ivana Ćorović’s team will face the home team in the first match, on Thursday at 6:00 PM, then on Friday at 11:30 AM they will play against Esslingen, while from 7:30 PM their opponent will be Fluvial Portuense. On Saturday the red and whites are free, and in the final round of the tournament, on Sunday at 11:30 AM, they will meet Hapoel.
The young Red Star team recently played five games in the second Danube League tournament in Gyor, where they were better only than ASV Vienna, while losing to Gyor, Alba Iulia, Partizan and Palilula.
