Radnički is one step away from qualifying for the Euro Cup semi-finals, and will play the second leg of the quarter-finals against Primorac from Kotor on Saturday at 8 p.m. at their pool.
The first match, which was played in Kotor, was won by the water polo players of coach Uroš Stevanović 14:10 and it is clear that they are big favorites to advance to the next round of the competition. If the desired result is achieved, Radnički will play in the semifinals against the better team from the Sabadell – Marseille duel. The French won the first match in their own pool 17:12.
In the first match, Radnički’s team controlled the events in the pool, building their lead from quarter to quarter, and in the end deservedly came out with a four-goal advantage, which gives them a more comfortable position before the second leg.
Radnički’s coach, Uroš Stevanović, emphasized that his team enters the match with a clear goal – to confirm the victory from the first match and advance to the semifinals.
– We have an excellent result from the first match, but that must not fool us. We have to enter with maximum focus, impose a rhythm from the beginning and not allow our rival to return to this double match – said Stevanović and emphasized that the advantage from the first match must not fool the team.
– Primorac is a talented team that has been recording notable results recently and will certainly try to surprise. They have nothing to lose and have talent, desire and aggressiveness. They play without strain and will try to catch up, but I think we are wondering, as in previous matches. Everything is in our hands on our pool – concluded Stevanović.
The match will be played on Saturday at 8 p.m. in Kragujevac, and admission is free. Radnički hopes that as many fans as possible will come to the pool to support the team in its fight for a place in the Euro Cup semifinals.
