The water polo players from Novi Beograd, Tehnomanija, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League, after they defeated Jadran from Herceg Novi 15:12 in the last round of the group stage in Trebinje after a fantastic game. The guests led 3:1 in the first quarter, and then, after a furious game in the second period, they took a 9:3 lead and practically eliminated all dilemmas.
Danilo Stupar gave Novi Beograd the lead in the first minute, but the guests from Belgrade converted their first three chances with a player more into goals and turned the score to 3:1 through Miroslav Perković, Dušan Trtović and Nikola Lukić. From that moment on, Novi Beograd did not let go of the lead, Vasilije Martinović was precise from the counterattack, and at the start of the second quarter, Marko Dimitrijević and a little later Vuk Milojević and Lukić further increased the lead (7:2).
Martinović crowned a fantastic second quarter with two goals, and even then, with a 9:3 lead, it was clear that Novi Beograd would play in the quarterfinals of the elite European competition.
The guests continued in the same rhythm. Milan Glušac excelled in goal, and in attack Trtović and Martinović used their numerical advantage and increased the lead to 11:3. After three quarters, Novi Beograd had a 13:5 lead, but then the Novi Beograd team mitigated the defeat in the final period.
