The water polo players from Novi Beograd Tehnomania will play against Brescia in Italy in the third round of the quarter-final group A of the Champions League, and that match is scheduled for Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
The current vice-champion of Serbia and Europe has a mediocre performance from the first two rounds, while Brescia is without a win. However, the strong center of Novo Beograd, Stefan Pješivac, is not fooled by the current position of the Italian representative in the table:
– Brescia has an extremely high-quality team and that is why we are expecting a very difficult and uncertain match. However, we are confident in our work and the effort we have put into preparing for this match. I think we have prepared really well and if we are at our best, I believe we can return to Belgrade with three new points – said Pješivac.
He stated that the reason for the defeat in Spain against Barcelona was primarily due to weaker defensive play and that he expects his team to be at a higher level in that segment in Brescia.
– Brescia has a style of play that is very similar to that of Barceloneta. It is a typical Italian team that forces the game with a lot of swimming, they are very fast and in that segment we will have to match them well – emphasized Pešivac and then added:
– It is always difficult to play in their pool, they are very unpleasant hosts. They have several outstanding individuals, but they are without a doubt a quality team. If we are at our recognizable level, we can hope for a victory that would be valuable for us in the fight for a place in the Final Four – concluded Pešivac.
In the second match of the third round of the quarter-finals of Group A, Barceloneta and Olympiacos will meet again on Tuesday at 20:30.
