The Serbian women’s water polo team (under-20) took 10th place at the European Championship in Portugal. Dejan Bozić’s team was defeated by Israel in the last match of the championship with a score of 16:7 (5:2, 4:2, 3:2, 4:1).
The Israelis opened the match better and after the first quarter had a three-goal lead – 5:2. The rivals were more efficient in the second period as well, going into halftime with a 9:4 lead.
Our national team failed to reduce the deficit in the rest of the match. Israel won the third quarter with a score of 3:2, and the last period with a score of 4:1, thus securing victory and ninth place in the championship.
The most efficient player for the Serbian national team was Jovana Radonjić with three goals. Nika Ratković scored two, while Jana Janković and Una Jelenić each scored once.
Serbia finished the European Championship in 10th place.
