The young women’s water polo team of Serbia (players under 20) convincingly defeated the host Portugal with a score of 18:3 (4:0, 5:0, 3:1, 6:2) in the match for 9th to 12th place at the European Championship in Oeiras.
Our national team controlled the match from the start. Serbia won the first quarter with a score of 4:0, and in the second period they scored five more goals, going into halftime with a convincing 9:0 lead.
The Portuguese team scored the first goal in the third quarter, but our team continued to increase its lead. Serbia scored six more goals in the final period and achieved a convincing victory.
The most efficient player in the Serbian national team was Jovana Radonjić with seven goals. Nika Ratković scored five, Jana Janković three, while Irena Trbanos, Danica Balać and Elena Ćuk each scored once.
Serbia will play for ninth place on Thursday, August 6, at 2:45 p.m. Serbian time against the winner of the Israel-France match.
