The Serbian youth men’s water polo team (players under 16) recorded their second consecutive victory at the World Championship in Zagreb. Vojislav Čupić’s team defeated the Netherlands in the second round match with a score of 15:12 (4:2, 6:3, 1:3, 4:4).
Our national team opened the game well and had a two-goal lead after the first quarter. Serbia played even more efficiently in the second period, scoring six goals and going into halftime with a convincing 10:5 lead.
The Netherlands managed to reduce the deficit in the third quarter, winning that period 3:1. In the final period, both teams scored four goals, so Serbia maintained the advantage and achieved a well-deserved victory.
The most efficient player in the Serbian national team was Maksim Krečković with seven goals. Andrija Čubrilović scored three, while Uroš Munćan, Strahinja Milutinović, Dušan Samardžić, Nemanja Grgić and Marko Bursac each scored once.
Maksim Krečković was named the best player of the match.
Our national team will play against Georgia in the third round. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, at 7:05 p.m.
