The Serbian women’s water polo team U20 has made a convincing start to its participation at the European Championship in Portugal. Dejan Bozic’s team defeated Switzerland 17:5 (3:1, 3:2, 5:2, 6:0) in their first match at the championship.
Our national team controlled the game from the beginning and had a two-goal lead after the first quarter. Switzerland put up a slightly stronger resistance in the second period, but Serbia went into halftime with a 6:3 lead.
The quality of the Serbian team was evident in the rest of the match. Serbia won the third quarter with a score of 5:2, and then completely outplayed their rivals in the final period. Our water polo players scored six goals without conceding a goal and achieved a convincing victory.
The most efficient player in the Serbian national team was Jovana Radonjić with six goals. Nika Ratković and Elena Ćuk scored four each, while Danica Balać, Jana Janković and Una Jelenić each scored once.
Serbia will play against Turkey in their next match. The match is scheduled for Monday, August 3rd, at 2:45 PM.
