The group stages for the men’s and women’s European Under-20 Championship were determined on Monday.
The men will play in the Elite Group in Varna (Bulgaria) from August 10 to 16, and their rivals will be Montenegro, Spain and Germany, while the girls will compete in Eiras (Portugal), from August 1 to 7, and the group also includes Turkey and Switzerland.
European Junior Championship
Group A: Croatia, Hungary, Italy, Greece.
Group B: Montenegro, Spain, Germany, Serbia.
Group C: Turkey, Bulgaria, France, Slovenia
Group D: Netherlands, Romania, Malta, Czech Republic.
The Division One competition in Eiras will also be held at the same time.
Group A: Israel, Ukraine, Switzerland, Great Britain, Belgium
Group B: Georgia, Poland, Lithuania, Finland, Portugal, Russia.
The last two from the Elite Group go to Division 1 and the first two from Division 1 enter the elite for the competition in 2028.

“A” group: Spain, Greece, Italy, Israel
Group B: Hungary, Croatia, Netherlands, France
Group C: Germany, Malta, Russia
Group D: Ukraine, Romania, Portugal
“E” group: Great Britain, Czech Republic, Ireland
Group F: Turkey, Serbia, Switzerland
The best teams from Groups C, D, E and F will advance to the round of 16 and play the third and fourth placed teams from Groups A and B. The draw will be held after the completion of the qualifying groups.
