Italy justified its role as favorites against Serbia

In the second round of the European Women’s Water Polo Championship in Funchal, the Serbian women’s national team was defeated by Italy with a score of 17:6. Miloš Bradić’s team defeated Turkey 9:8 in the first round, and in two days, in the decisive match, they will play Croatia.

The Italians took the lead in the second minute, but Serbia quickly equalized with a goal by Ana Milićević, who was also accurate at the end of the first quarter (3:2). However, Italy scored two more goals by the end of that period, and then extended the series to a convincing 10:2, and then the question of the winner was resolved. Hristina Ilić joined the scorers list 55 seconds before the end of the first half, and Italy then reached “+10” and routinely maintained that difference.

Serbia played with the following lineup: Travar, Zelic, Milicevic 3, Sarac, Radonjic 1, Ilic 1, Mandic, Diaz Mesa, Vukovic, E. Cuk, Lukic 1, Dulic (seven defense), M. Cuk, Ratkovic.
