Big test in the Conference Cup for Belgrade clubs

The upcoming weekend is set for the second round of the Conference Cup water polo qualifiers. 18 teams will compete in four cities, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the quarterfinals. Serbia will be represented by Belgrade teams Partizan and Red Star Belgrade. Both teams will have a tough task to advance to the next round.

Partizan has passed the first round of qualifying in its pool and will be in a group in Potsdam with the team of the same name and Greek teams Apollon Smirnis and Panionios. On Friday, Partizan plays Apollon at 5 pm, on Saturday at 3 pm with Panionios and on Sunday with Potsdam at 12 pm.

Red Star Belgrade was eliminated from the Euro Cup and was given a chance in a lower-level competition. The Red and Whites will play in Naples with local team Posillipo, Dinamo Tbilisi, Spanish team Mataró and French team Sete. On Thursday, Red Star Belgrade starts the tournament with a match against Sete at 22:00, on Friday at 19:00 their opponent is Mataró, on Saturday at 9:30 Dinamo and at 18:30 Posillipo.

Group “A” (Potsdam): Apollon Smyrnis and Panionios (Greece), Potsdam (Germany), Partizan (Serbia).

“B” group (Split): Tenerife Echeide (Spain), Mornar (Croatia), Rapid (Romania), De Zan (Netherlands).

“C” group (Montpellier): De Aker (Italy), Honved (Hungary), Montpellier (France), Primorje (Croatia), A-Polo sport management (Georgia).

Group “D” (Naples): Red Star Belgrade (Serbia), Dinamo (Georgia), Mataro (Spain), Posillipo (Italy), Sète Natation (France).
