On the occasion of the 37th European Men’s Water Polo Championship , a Gala Dinner was organized during which awards were presented by European Aquatics and the Water Polo Federation of Serbia to those who made an exceptional contribution to the organization of the European Championship.
The event was held at the Jockey Club , a beautiful estate nestled in greenery and surrounded by spacious meadows that exude a special energy, in a place where luxury meets nature. The great atmosphere was complemented by a jazz trio consisting of renowned musicians from the domestic and European jazz scene, accompanied by the superb vocals of Isidora Orlović , while a special show was also arranged for those present, in which horses, with grace and strength, jumped high obstacles.
On the occasion of the successful implementation of a significant sporting event such as the European Water Polo Championship, the Secretary General of the Serbian Water Polo Federation, Nemanja Marijan , first addressed the audience and thanked everyone who participated.
Representatives of European Aquatics expressed their gratitude and recognition to Serbia for hosting this extraordinary championship, and were addressed by Josip Varvodić , First Vice President of European Aquatics, and Kyriakos Yiannopoulos , Vice President of European Aquatics. Special recognition for the contribution to the successful organization and realization of this incredible sporting event was awarded to the Minister of Sports of the Republic of Serbia, Zoran Gajić , President of the Water Polo Federation of Serbia, Viktor Jelenić , and Vice President of European Aquatics, Vanja Udovičić.
Yiannopoulos presented awards to the City Secretary for Sports and Youth, Nikola Penić , the Secretary General of the Water Polo Federation of Serbia, Nemanja Marijan , the Special Advisor on the European Water Polo Championship – Belgrade 2026 project, Darko Udovičić , and the Director of the European Water Polo Championship – Belgrade 2026, Đorđe Đorđević .
The awards from the Serbian Water Polo Federation were presented by Viktor Jelenić, President of the Serbian Water Polo Federation, and Nemanja Marijan, Secretary General of the Serbian Water Polo Federation.
Recognition for institutional and international contribution was given to Antonio José Silva , President of European Aquatics, Josip Varvodić , First Vice President of European Aquatics, Vanja Udovicic , Vice President of European Aquatics, Kyriakos Yiannopoulos , Vice President of European Aquatics, Zoran Gajić, Minister of Sports in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Sinisa Mali , Minister of Finance in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Đuro Macut , Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Branko Jovčić , Advisor to the Prime Minister, and Dejan Tomašević , President of the Olympic Committee of Serbia.
For their professional and organizational contribution, recognition was given to Renato Živković , European Aquatics’ Water Polo Sports Director, Perica Bukić , President of the Water Polo Technical Commission, and Andy Heppelman , President of the European Aquatics Disciplinary Commission.
