On Friday, January 9, 2026, in anticipation of the 37th European Men’s Water Polo Championship, a series of events awaits us that will bring you closer to the upcoming sports spectacle that will be held in the Belgrade Arena from January 10 to 25.
We are pleased to invite you to a press conference, a tour of the Belgrade Arena and the opening ceremony on the occasion of the European Water Polo Championships – Belgrade 2026.
Press conference – Crowne Plaza, Adriatic Hall, January 9th at 12 noon
The press conference will be held on Friday, January 9th at 12 noon at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, on the first floor in the Adriatic Room.

After the officials’ addresses, some of the participating countries will be presented, as well as the athletes nominated for the “Water Polo Player of the Year” award, after which a cocktail will be held.
* The press conference will be conducted in English , and if you would like to ask questions to local sports representatives, you can ask them in Serbian.
Media visit – Belgrade Arena, 1:30 p.m.
A tour of the Belgrade Arena will be organized after the press conference, when transportation from the Crowne Plaza Hotel will be provided for accredited media representatives.
According to a pre-determined plan, journalists, cameramen and photojournalists will have the opportunity to go through the media zones and halls on a guided tour. Entry to the Belgrade Arena is scheduled for 1:40 p.m. in front of entrance 109, and the estimated duration of the tour is 45 minutes.

Opening ceremony, Ložionica, January 9th at 7:30 p.m.
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the OPENING CEREMONY OF THE 37TH EUROPEAN MEN’S WATER POLO CHAMPIONSHIP – BELGRADE 2026, which will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026 , starting at 8 p.m., in Ložionica , the first center of creative industries and innovations in the region, at Ideja Street 2, in Belgrade . We kindly ask you to be at Ložionica no later than 7:30 p.m., in accordance with the event protocol. It will be an honor for us to open a new chapter in the history of the European Championships together and mark the beginning of another major sporting event that will bring together the best European national men’s water polo teams.
* The above events can only be attended by accredited media representatives who have collected their press accreditation, therefore we invite all accredited media to collect their accreditations by January 9th at the press desk of the accreditation center located across from entrance 106 (north) of the Belgrade Arena. The press desk is open on January 8th from 10 am to 3 pm and on January 9th from 10 am to 6 pm.
