A very strong international tournament begins in Trebinje on Saturday, and today the Mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić, organized a reception for the Serbian national team players and members of the coaching staff.
Captain Nikola Jakšić emphasizes that the tournament in Trebinje will be a real test before the European Championship in Belgrade.
– I am glad that we came to Trebinje to play in a tournament like this. We have excellent conditions here. We expect a lot from the European tournament, because the Serbian national team always goes to win the most prestigious award, so we expect the same at the tournament in Trebinje – said the Serbian captain.
Serbia coach Uroš Stevanović is also very satisfied with the conditions in Trebinje. He points out that his players have everything they need in that city to prepare for the European Championship as best as possible.
– In cooperation with the City of Trebinje and Mayor Mirko Ćurić, we organized a tournament in Trebinje, certainly the strongest before the European Championship, where six teams participate, five of which are aiming to win medals, and it is a real test before the European Championship – emphasized coach Stevanović.
Mayor Mirko Ćurić said that Trebinje can be proud of the number of Premier League players and the number of children and youth who play sports in Trebinje, as well as the conditions that athletes have.
– Thank you to the administration and the Serbian water polo players who are staying in Trebinje, because our youth and children who are involved in sports want to see great clubs and athletes, so it is a stimulus for all of us, because, as if tomorrow, new members will join the water polo club and other clubs in Trebinje – said Mayor Ćurić.
