After more than three months, the Serbian Women’s Water Polo Championship resumed, and in the first match of the 8th round, Vojvodina defeated Red Star Belgrade 14:6.
Although Red Star was formally the host, the match was played in Novi Sad, where Vojvodina imposed its own rhythm in the first quarter and, led by Tijana Lukić and Isidora Damnjanović, took a 6:1 lead and played much more relaxed afterwards. At halftime, the Novi Sad team led 8:2 and maintained that advantage until the end of the match.
Jana Pejić was the most effective player for the winners with five goals, while Lukić scored three goals. For Red Star, Milica Pavić and Nađa Milenković scored two goals each.
Zvezda will be playing the second Danube League tournament in Gyor starting Sunday, while Vojvodina will face obligations in the Conference Cup next weekend.
In the second match of this group, Partizan and Palilula will play on March 1st at 18:30.
